How Seat Grab works, and what it doesn't do.
Which semester is a pass for?
Passes on sale now are for Winter 2027 registration at Vanier. Only 2,000 will be sold, and once they're gone, they're gone for that semester.
A pass bought now is ready the moment Vanier posts the schedule. Only paying claims a spot; creating an account doesn't.
How does the schedule builder work?
Search a course, check its meeting times and instructor rating, and add it to a draft week to see what clashes before registration opens. To get alerts on a full section, track it from Seat Alerts.
How fast are the notifications?
Usually within a minute or two. Delivery depends on your phone — push works best once Seat Grab is on your home screen with notifications allowed.
We can't guarantee you'll get the seat. Someone else may register first.
Do you need my Omnivox password?
No. We never ask for your student ID, password or Omnivox login, and we never register for you. We watch the course listings and tell you what changed.
Is this affiliated with my college?
No. Seat Grab is an independent student project, not affiliated with Vanier or Skytech (Omnivox). Using it is your responsibility.
Which colleges are supported?
Vanier College only, for now. Dawson support is paused.
Is there a limit to how many sections I can track?
A $5 pass lets you track up to 8 sections. That's enough for one main section plus backups.
